It’s What We Do: Ein fanfarenartiges Keyboard-Intro gepaart mit prägnanten Gitarren-Läufen artet zum Bombast-Epos aus.
Leichte Reminiszenzen an One Of These Days.
Skins: Von Welcome To The Machine inspirierte Sound-Strukturen und Dschungel-Drum-Rhythem ergeben eine etwas billige Soundcollage.
Hochqualitative Soundtrack-Musik. Gepaart mit Text wäre das ein Hit!
The Lost Art of Conversation: Klassik-inspiriertes Piano-Solo – Eine kleine Nachtmusik von Pink Floyd.
On Noodle Street: Auf Klassik folgt Jazz.
Night Light: Skizzenhaftes, sehr reduziertes Zwischen-Intermezzo. Im Vordergrund steht Gilmours Akustik-Gitarre.
Allons-y (1): An Run Like Hell erinnernder Disco-Beat.
Autumn’68: Vor 46 Jahren in Royal Albert Hall aufgenommenes klerikales Kirchen-Orgel-Intermezzo in schwerem Moll. Vom Sound jedoch absolut zeitgemäß.
Allons-y (2): Zurück zum Disco-Rhythmus. Diesmal untermalt mit eindringlichem Gitarren-Solo.
Talkin’ Hawkin’: Rockinges Pop-Keyboard Grundlage mit den Stehpen Hawking Zitaten wie „Speech has allowed the communication of ideas, enabling human beings to work together to build the impossible.” oder „By talking, and its greatest failures by not talking. It doesn’t have to be like this. Our greatest hopes could become reality in the future. With the technology at our disposal, the possibilities are unbounded.“ Musikalisch keinerlei Ähnlichkeit mit Hawkings 1994er Einsatz bei Keep Talking.
Calling: Verzerrte Wassertropfen, Baumaschinen-Sounds und erneut klerikale Klänge. Viele Sounds, wenig Musik. Klingt etwas wirr.
Louder Than Words: Der einzige Song! Als Abschied vertont Gilmour auch den Floyd-Streit (We bitch and we fight // But this thing that we do // It’s louder than words // The sum of our parts // The beat of our hearts // It’s louder than words.) zum prägnanten Hit.
Ein würdiger Abschied!
